Canada and U.S. at odds on SLA issues: negotiator
Aug. 22, 2016 - Canada and the United States need to address several gaps before an agreement can be reached on a new softwood lumber deal, according to Canada's chief negotiator.

Martin Moen told a parliamentary committee last week that officials from both countries are highly engaged, but remain far apart on some key issues such as an appropriate export structure, exclusions, and the treatment of high-value products and re-manufacturers. Officials meet again this week.
