Council to govern health and safety?

April 7, 2015 – The B.C. Forest Safety Council is one step closer to becoming the health and safety association for sawmills in British Columbia.

According to an article in the Prince George Citizen, the council formally approved the initiative on Tuesday.

The initiative comes in the wake of the explosions at Lakeland Mills and Babine Forest Products that killed two people per incident and injured more than 20. The initiative still needs approval from the Manufacturers Advisory Group, which will meet with the B.C. Forest Safety Council on the matter later this month.
