Jeff Butler passes away

by | Aug 2012
Jeffrey William Butler, of Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Jeff is survived by his wife Ginette (Frenette), son David, and daughters Catherine and Elisabeth. Born October 30, 1950 in Chicoutimi, Quebec, he was the son of Kathleen L. (Gough) Butler (Fredericton) and the late William S. Butler. He is also survived by his sister Jennifer (Jim) Martin, brothers Andrew (Dixie) Butler and Les (Susan) Butler, mother and father-in-law Viviane and Albert Frenette and several nieces and nephews.

Tu vas nous manquer beaucoup et on va penser souvent à toi.

Jeff was a passionate and talented sports enthusiast and worker. He put his heart and soul into whatever he pursued. He graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Forest Engineering in 1973 and remained active with the University serving on the accreditation Board. He was a Registered Professional Forester and a Professional Engineer. He also obtained his MBA from Concordia University.

Jeff had a passion for life and an ability to motivate those around him. He worked 26 years in senior positions for Domtar and then his entrepreneurial spirit took over his career path in 1999. He and his son, David, formed Butler- Consultants and worked together on Business opportunities and other projects. Their creativity and vision was inspiring. Above all, Jeff was a family man who would do anything for his family and his family would do anything to support him. Jeff's favourite moments were spent on the golf course with his son David or at home with his family.

There will be a memorial gathering at Morgan Funeral Home in Niagara-on- the-Lake on August 11th between 2-4pm.

As a forester, Jeff lived and breathed the forest industry. Therefore, in his memory, we will be planting a tree on the golf course with a plaque saying "Jeff Butler 1950 - 2012, from your family & Friends". If you would like to take part in the donation please forward to:
