Agreement reached at Gillwood

Nov. 19, 2013 - The work stoppage at the Gillwood Remanufacturing Facility located at 6550 Unsworth Road in Chilliwack, BC has ended after it came to an agreement with its employees on a new deal.

While the industry and the remanufacturing sector continues to undergo major changes, Gillwood is working with its employees and management to quickly rebuild the operation to ensure long-­term viability and sustainability. Gillwood (previously Uneeda Wood Products) has been a mainstay in Chilliwack for several decades.

Gillwood is 'open for business' effective immediately. Employees have all been informed of the agreement details and are excited to return to their place of employment. Employees will be recalled immediately after equipment startup and safety inspections are complete -­- a process that should be completed in the coming days.
