B.C. government postpones MFPR to support BC forestry during COVID-19
June 12, 2020 By PJ Boyd

In an effort to support the forestry companies and workers that have been effected by COVID-19, the BC government is taking new actions to help such as changes to the Manufactured Forest Products Regulation (MFPR) and more.
As the forest industry continues to be effected by COVID-19, with mill closures, fibre supply issues and operation curtailments, the government of BC is postponing the soon to be implemented changes to the MFPR and the variable fee-in-lieu of manufacture on log exports until Sept. 30, 2020, and December 2020.
The government believes that by delaying the MFPR and fee-in-lieu, it will give B.C. forest companies more time to prepare for the new regulatory changes.
