B.C. forest waste for Boeing jet fuel?
March 3, 2016 – Boeing is working with officials at the University of British Columbia to determine if B.C. forest waste could provide the feedstock for bio jet fuel for the airline.

According to a Vancouver Sun report, a presentation made by a company official at the GLOBE conference in Vancouver discussed the various feedstocks the company is looking at for the future production of biofuel for its fleet. Vice-president of marketing for Boeing commercial planes Fariba Alamdari also mentioned agricultural waste from Alberta and old cooking oil from China as possible resources.
Boeing aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 50 per cent versus 2005 levels by the year 2050.
