B.C. mill among contest winners

Six sawmill companies, including one in B.C., have been selected by Wood-Mizer as final winners of their bi-annual Business Best Contest for customers in North America.

Wood-Mizer’s bi-annual Business Best contest recognizes customers who utilize top sawing practices and sound financial strategies to earn a living and a reputation as the best in the business.

Each winning business has been awarded prizes, received a plaque, and was featured in The Wood-Mizer Way, Wood-Mizer’s customer magazine for the portable and industrial sawmilling industry with a circulation of 40,000+.

Companies were required to submit a detailed application that gave many specific details about their business, and how they operated.

In Category 1 for Industrial Sawmill entries, Cook Woods in Klammath Falls, OR won first place and DMRay Sawmill, Inc. in Hardinsburg, IN won second place.

In Category 2 for Hydraulic Sawmill entries, Northern Log & Timber in Kelowna, BC won first place and Derek Morrell in Battle Ground, WA won second place.

In Category 3 for Manual Sawmill entries, Hamsley Forestry, LLC. In Hawkinsville, GA won first place and Knotthead Custom Sawing in Ceres, CA won second place.
