BC to provide $4M in wildfire support for communities

The government of B.C. has announced it will provide $4.3 million in funding for 42 local governments and First Nations to support wildfire risk reduction efforts.

According to Victoria Buzz, applicants who have a higher wildfire risk can apply for up to $150,000 in funding, while those with a lower wildfire risk can apply for up to $50,000. The funding could cover up to 100 per cent of the cost of a community’s wildfire risk reduction efforts.
