In 2015 the BC Forest Safety Council’s Falling Technical Advisory Committee (FTAC) requested the Coast Harvesting Advisory Group (CHAG) find solutions to the problem of excessive roadside debris.
To address the issue, CHAG created a working group which consisted of fallers, engineers, road builders and contract managers. The working group circulated a survey to industry workers that could be involved with roadside debris, and used the 120 responses to build recommendations.
Seven key recommendations were identified by the working group, and a brochure, poster and video were developed as resources for industry with the support of CHAG and the BC Forest Safety Council.
