Campbell River restarts forestry task force
Dec. 10, 2014, Campbell River – Mayor Andy Adams has determined that the time has come for the community to re-focus on the forest industry.
According to a BCLocalNews.com report, Campbell River’s new mayor believes that forestry was neglected during the previous council term, and a renewed focus is necessary for the prosperity of the region.
He has asked Councillor Charlie Cornfield to start ta forestrytask force with the expectation of working with local forestry stakeholders to re-build the coastal forest industry. The committee is expected to re-visit the Wood First building policy, presented during a previous council term, as well as waysto further engage forestry programs at North Island College.
