Canada’s National Tree Seed Bank turns 50

Jan. 9, 2017 - The National Tree Seed Centre located in Fredericton is celebrating its first 50 years as one of Canada's largest seed collection and storage centres.
The seed bank is a branch of Natural Resources Canada and provides seeds for researchers across the country, and the world, for research and reforestation.
According to CBC News, the seed bank has 14,000 seed lots, small containers of seeds representing 150 different species.
