Canal Flats reduced to single shift

Feb. 11, 2015 – Canfor has announced that its Canal Flats sawmill will be reduced from two shifts to one shift starting in early May.

According to the Cranbrook Daily Townsman, the company cites a lack of economically viable fibre as the primary reason for the change in production at the mill.

The reduction affects 81 people at the mill, all of whom will be offered new positions at other Canfor mills.
