B.C.-based forestry giant Canfor has committed to becoming a net-zero carbon emissions company by 2050, announcing yesterday its “Path to Net Zero Carbon.”
The company said in a news release it has developed near term science-based targets that include reducing the carbon emissions from pulp and wood products operations by 42 per cent by 2030 compared to 2020 numbers.
Canfor plans to measure and assess its global supply chain and woodlands emissions and set a science-based reduction target by 2024.
