Caribou protection plan could hurt industry
Aug. 29, 2016 - Northern Alberta communities are speaking out against a provincial government plan to save endangered woodland caribou by protecting 1.8 million hectares of land.

A recently formed Caribou Communities organization, which includes the town of High Level, argues not enough groups were engaged in creating the caribou action plan. The group wants to find a solution that protects caribou while continuing forestry and petroleum activities in the area.
