Carrier Lumber purchases Lucidyne GradeScan
October 11, 2019 By Lucidyne Technologies

Carrier Lumber has purchased a GradeScan with Perceptive Sight 2.0 from Lucidyne for installation in their Prince George, B.C. mill.
After closely watching the performance of Lucidyne’s GradeScan at other Canadian mills, particularly those with the Perceptive Sight platform, Carrier recognized that GradeScan was the right decision for their mill.
Their production of several sizes, grades and species requires precision defect detection and consistent meet-or-beat grade standards. Lucidyne demonstrated results on Carrier’s own lumber, making the choice clear.
All new Lucidyne GradeScan’s come standard with the Perceptive Sight Intelligent Grading platform, using deep learning artificial intelligence for unmatched defect detection and grading results.
Carrier required a quick turnaround on this system with only eight weeks from order to startup, and Lucidyne will deliver. The system will be installed and started up in mid-November of 2019.
