Rotochopper
Rotochopper, through a commitment to continuous innovation, has updated its FP-66 horizontal grinder to increase the capacity of materials that can be processed by the mid-sized grinder. The larger 30-inch feed opening and increased powerfeed lift height allow larger materials into the grinding chamber, increasing productivity and efficiency. The updated open-end infeed conveyor provides increased versatility and reduces the build-up of materials. This heavy-duty grinder is now available with a more aggressive powerfeed and either a 630- or 755-hp diesel engine to grind a variety of raw materials.

Peterson
The 4300B Peterson Drum Chipper is a high-volume biomass producer for operators who have a wide variety of feed material from logs up to 26 inches in diameters to brush to other feedstock. The 4300B Drum Chipper has a C18 Cat 765-hp engine, weighs 52,000 pounds and is eight feet, four and 3/4 inches in width, making it a high-production chipper that does not require oversize permits for road transportation. The chipper utilizes a 36-inch diameter by 40-inch-wide drum with wear-resistant AR450 wear surfaces. The optional material sizing bars and chip accelerator minimize oversize twigs and branches in the chips, and help ensure tight chip packing and fully loaded chip vans. Traditional babbitt type knife systems are standard equipment. Chip length can be changed from 1/4 to one and 1/4 inches by adjusting knife extension and feed speed. The 4300B’s new generation of controls includes Peterson’s high-production Adaptive Control System, making troubleshooting easy with self-diagnosis for faulty sensors and open circuits.

CBI
Combining the CBI Magnum Force Flail 604 and the CBI Magnum Force 754 Disc Chipper, the 7544 Flail Debarker and Disc Chipper combo offers a standalone solution for professionals who need maximum debarking and high-quality chip production all in one unit. Powered by a Cat C-32, 1,200-hp engine, the 7544 is capable of processing logs up to 24 inches in diameter. Consisting of four 44-inch long by 40-inch diameter drums, the flail can run single or dual eight-link chains and speeds of 200-700 rpm while the disc chipper produces high-quality wood chips from 3/8 inches to one inch for the pulp and paper industry at up to 200 tonnes per hour.

Fecon
Fecon has upgraded its Stumpex auger-type stump grinder to include a two-speed hydraulic motor for faster stump removal, especially on soft woods. Designed to maximize 100 per cent of machine output, the Stumpex 2-Speed improves cut time by up to 50 per cent, removing 24-inch stumps in less than three minutes. In addition to faster stump processing, the new model reduces wear on blades and cones, allowing longer service life and extending the intervals between blade sharpening. It is ideal for skid steer loaders and compact tracked loaders with 60-plus horsepower. Carriers with lower flow will achieve drastically increased cutting time compared to fixed displacement motors. With no chips or debris strewn about, the low-speed, high-torque auger-type technology is the safest method of stump removal. Very little maintenance is required. Since all debris is contained in one area, clean-up is much faster as well.

Precision Husky
There are times in a sawmill application where a conventional slab-type chipper just doesn’t have the necessary capacity for that occasional piece of roundwood. Some mills may need a chipper that will handle roundwood but do not want to pay for the initial investment and operating costs associated with a larger chipper. Whereas roundwood chippers are considerably more expensive than waste wood chippers, the Precision 66 – 20-inch capacity chipper offers a less expensive alternative to lower production roundwood chipping with less required horsepower. This chipper is designed with a larger infeed capacity for limited roundwood applications, but will also chip typical sawmill waste. It has the same design as the larger 75-inch roundwood chipper and can be built with the optional six-inch-thick chipper disc. The heavy-duty infeed is fitted with reversible, hard surfaced or carbide horizontal and vertical anvils.

USNR
USNR’s Wastewood Chipper and whole log applications have become industry standard. These machines can be installed in sawmills, planer mills, and chip plant sites, anywhere in the world. The technology built into the Wastewood Chipper is proven to produce consistently uniform chips. Available in five sizes (48 inches, 58 inches, 66 inches, 75 inches and 96 inches), it handles logs from 11-25 inches to meet specific wastewood processing needs. It is equipped with a very short spout. Its large “J”-shaped opening is typically fed by a vibrating conveyor that provides automatic self-feeding even through the most difficult surges. Each model accommodates bottom, rear, and top discharge for maximum flexibility.

BRUks Siwertell
The new Bruks-Siwertell Mobile Chipper 806 STC is a highly effective chipper with its own engine, hydraulic and electrical system. Built on a sub-frame and mounted on a forwarder, it has its own high dumping chip container. This is a one-man and one-machine system for producing high-quality fuel chips in the forest from forest residues. The target with the new 806 is to make a chipper that’s “simply the best” for contractors when it comes to productivity, chip quality, reliability, functionality, serviceability and, most important of all, economics.

West Salem Machinery
WSM horizontal grinders/hogs easily process large, bulky material at a metered rate to help maximize capacity. WSM’s Titan Series horizontal grinders/hogs are massive systems that process high volumes of diverse types of wood waste. The vertical grinders/hogs are a great option for processing shorter incoming feedstock with a smaller installation footprint. High-speed, high-volume 44 Series Hammermills provide high-capacity grinding to a small consistent end product. WSM’s severe duty hybrid 42 Series Hammermills/Grinders are designed to reduce larger pieces of wood than a conventional hammermill and better withstand damage from tramp metal. WSM’s 48 Series Super Shredders are massive machines that combine the efficiency of the 44 Series and the durability of the 42 Series to provide small, consistent finished fibre at the highest capacity requirements in the most demanding environments.

Kadant Carmanah
Kadant Carmanah’s 55- and 65-inch Super Chippers are recognized in the industry for their chip quality, durability, and longevity. At the heart of these chippers is an extremely heavy and rigid disc that starts its life as a casting. Kadant Carmanah chose to manufacture from a casting to be able to add contours, stiffness, and mass in ways that are too costly to achieve with fabricated and machined plate steel. These high-inertia discs are the heaviest in the industry, helping to contribute to the Super Chipper’s heavy-duty reputation.

Brunette Machinery
Brunette’s whole log horizontal feed chipper has a powered upper pressroll and powered lower bedroll to control the feed of the logs to give a high-quality chip. Two rotors are available – the standard rotor for up to 1.25-inch nominal pulp chips, and the new MicroChip rotor, which is designed to produce a 0.25-inch nominal chip. Each rotor can be outfitted with the Brunette Quick-Change Knife system or the “disposable” Key Knife system. A hard-surfaced anvil mounted in a break-away support frame prevents damage from foreign material. The knife-to-anvil clearance is easily checked through access doors mounted on each side of the chipper frame. The Brunette Whole Log Chipper includes a common sub-frame which ties the infeed, chipper, motor, and HPU together for rigidity, and one lift installation.

Diamond Z
The all-new Diamond Z DZH5500TKT horizontal grinder offers Cat C-27 Tier IV Final power, 3,800 square inches of screen area and a total weight of 96,000 pounds. The DZH5500TKT does the work of bigger machines, yet is still easily transportable. Since its debut at CONEXPO 2020, the DZH5500TKT has been in high demand. It has already earned its stripes in the field in clean-up duty from last fall’s hurricanes in the U.S. Gulf region.
