Dust collector fire breaks out at Pembroke, Ont. lumber yard

Jan. 3, 2019 – On Wednesday, Jan. 2, a fire broke out at Lavern Heideman & Sons’ lumber yard in Pembroke, Ont.
According to CBC, the fire began in a hopper that collects sawdust, which then fell onto a hydro transformer, knocking out electricity to the city for a few hours.
No one was injured, but the damage is estimated to be worth millions of dollars.
