The rebuilding of a Timmins sawmill destroyed by fire in January has begun.

According to a report by CBC.ca Eacom is ordering new machinery and is scheduled to be sawing logs again by April.

In the meantime, some of the Timmins employees have been working in Eacom’s sawmill in Nairn Centre, just west of Sudbury.

Mel Lemky told CBC.ca that an extra shift was added at the Nairn mill, to keep up with rising demand for lumber.
