CFI has a rundown of the newest carriers and purpose-built log loaders for moving Canadian wood.

Caterpillar
The Cat 548 LL Forest Machine increases profitability for loggers by maximizing efficiency and reducing costs. It provides powerful swing torque and hydraulics and also outstanding fuel efficiency. Doosan
Doosan’s DX380LL-5 log loaders are designed for demanding logging and forestry applications. The newest Doosan model weighs approximately 113,500 pounds and is powered by a Tier 4-compliant, 318-hp diesel engine. It is an ideal machine for forestry professionals who work in shovel-logging, sorting and loading tasks. The DX380LL-5 log loader offers approximately 44 feet of reach at ground level, plus powerful hydraulics. Each DX380LL-5 log loader is designed with a log loader workgroup and a live heel. Tigercat
The Tigercat 875 logger is an 80,000-pound carrier with two boom options for loading or processing applications. Sennebogen
The Sennebogen 830 M-T is a purpose-built material handler adapted specifically for wood yard applications. It is a compact 91,300-pound loader on a rubber-tired undercarriage specially engineered to pull heavy log trailers. A 360-degree lift radius lets it work efficiently between tight rows with minimal maneuvering. Link-Belt

Pettibone
Pettibone’s Carry-Life 254i is purpose-built to deliver numerous safety and performance benefits over other material handling alternatives.
