Feds give Port Metro Vancouver $3 million
June 17, 2014 - The federal government is giving Port Metro Vancouver $3 million for new technologies meant to reduce wait times at the four terminals by better linking operation through new technologies. The Common Data Interface (CDI) project will include appointment scheduling through an enhanced common reservation system and GPS locators to measure operational performance and enforcement.
The project will receive $3 million over two years from Transport Canada's Clean Transportation Initiative on Port-Related Trucking, which the port will match for a $6 million investment.
