FESBC opens applications for wildfire risk reduction funding

The Forest Enhancement Society of BC (FESBC) is now accepting applications for projects focused on wildfire risk reduction and enhanced wood fibre utilization. With $60 million from the province’s Budget 2024, FESBC will distribute $20 million annually over the next three years.
Minister of Forests Bruce Ralston emphasized the importance of these projects for job creation and community support. Since 2016, FESBC has funded over 300 projects, delivering economic, environmental, and social benefits.
Executive Director Steve Kozuki urged First Nations, communities, and innovators to apply for funding. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing FESBC to respond swiftly to emerging needs and
opportunities.
