Fire breaks out at West Fraser Williams Lake mill

On Nov. 16, at 2:40 a.m., firefighters in Williams Lake responded to a fire at the local West Fraser mill.

According to My Cariboo Now, the fire broke out in the chip bins area of the mill. Firefighters cooled down the chip bins from their ladder truck and then worked with West Fraser crews to open up the bins and release some of the smouldering wood fibre and dust.

The cause of the fire is unknown and not suspicious, and damage at the site was limited.
