Freres Lumber of Mill City, Ore., is investing in its mass plywood panel (MPP) facility with a new five-foot bandmill and 60-foot carriage from USNR. The mill requires a bigger depth of cut as well as flexibility of cut pattern on its MPP billets, and this new equipment will allow the company to produce MPP beams and timbers of up to 24 inches x 24 inches.

Freres recognized USNR’s experience in carriage design, in the mass timber concept, as well as its long term support for mechanical, electrical and software processes. This is the first traditional carriage cutting MPP, LVL, or any veneer based product. USNR is proud to have the confidence of Freres Lumber to partner in this ground-breaking project.
