FSC Forest Week is being held the week of September 24th, with the theme ‘Choose Forests, Choose FSC’.
Previously known as FSC Friday, the organization is expanding the length of the campaign to a full week this year, while focusing content on forest sustainability issues. Forest Week is designed to raise consumer awareness of FSC and responsible forest management.
In a statement, FSC said that with climate change raising awareness about the critical role of forests – both to mitigate the worst impacts and to increase resiliency to the changes that are already happening – it is more important than ever to highlight actions that companies are taking to protect forests.
“While there are many climate solutions under development, forests offer the best way to sequester and store carbon at a global scale. FSC Forest Week offers a great opportunity to communicate about forests and climate.”
Interested FSC certificate holders and promotional license holders will be provided with a collection of editable graphics, videos, social media post, and more – offering companies plenty of ways to participate and highlight their work with FSC.
