Liebherr

The Liebherr A-924C rubber tire loader has proven its agility and quality in the woods with an operating weight of around 28,000 kg and a travel speed of up to 20km/hr. It will move from one part of the job to another in a flash on top of a very low maintenance cost undercarriage. The long reach of its 40 ft. boom and stick allows the operator to work from the road and on narrow roads it can reach over the tractor to the trailer. The spacious hydraulic cab allows the operator to lift up to 17-ft. 3-in. (eye sight). The ergonomic air suspension seat, lower back and bottom cushion heated seat makes it easy on operators over long shifts. The Liebherr tier 3-4 cylinders engine is environmentally friendly with its low fuel consumption and very low noise emission. The configuration of the engine and hydraulic pumps makes it for easy access for maintenance.

Tigercat
Tigercat has been testing a new machine for material handling – the LS855C shovel logger, in steep slope applications in South America and Tasmania. This highly refined machine uses the durable C-series upper assembly and has the same FH400 undercarriage and super duty leveling system as the L870C feller buncher. The purpose-built ER shovel logger boom with live heel provides a maximum reach of 10.9 m.

The LS855C uses Tigercat’s new twin swing drive system, providing powerful swing torque while minimizing pinion loads for extended swing system life. A closed loop swing circuit provides high swing performance as well as an energy recovery system. Every time the machine upper slows its rotation, energy is returned to the engine flywheel through the pump and motors. This energy is then available for other machine functions, increasing overall performance or decreasing fuel consumption.
