Show Management is pleased to announce a new location for this event: the site of the Festival Western de Dolbeau-Mistassini, in the center of Dolbeau.

Démo Forêt 2000 will offer static booths with demo opportunities and will surely showcase the latest and relevant products available to the forestry and sawmilling industries.

The timing could not be better to return to this region and to be included in their year of celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Saguenay-Lac St-Jean Region and resurgence in the forestry industry.

Lumber’s winning streak has been fuelled by a rebound in U.S. housing starts, robust exports to China, restricted timber supplies in Canada and a series of North American sawmill closures.

“Historically, high lumber prices have been transitory, lasting only for a period of months. Lumber markets will still be volatile, but structurally, with the changes in supply and demand, we see a period of sustained higher prices,” Daryl Swetlishoff, forest products analyst at Raymond James Ltd. told The Globe and Mail.

“The combination of a revived U.S. housing market and tightened timber supplies will help spark an unprecedented supercycle for lumber – a long period of rising prices for the commodity, Mr. Swetlishoff said. While there will some bumps ahead, lumber is in the early stages of an extended bull run,” he said.
