US imports of softwood from Russia, Germany jump

Imports from Russia are 42 per cent higher in 2017 compared to last year, and Germany imports are up more than 900 per cent, according to reports published by The Globe and Mail. 

RBC analyst Paul Quinn told The Canadian Press countervailing and antidumping duties imposed since the spring have already cost Canadian lumber producers an estimated $500 million.
