Nov. 14, 2018 – West Fraser will permanently curtail approximately 300 million board feet of combined lumber production at its Fraser Lake and Quesnel sawmills. The curtailment will be realized through the elimination of the third shift at each sawmill.
Nov. 13, 2018 – The government today revealed plans to invest $15 million in Granule 777 Inc. The funds will go towards helping the company build a fully integrated industrial wood pellet and sawmill complex.
Nov. 12, 2018 – Conifex Timber Inc. announced that it is temporarily curtailing sawmill operations at its Fort St. James, B.C. sawmill for a two-week period commencing today, due primarily to log costs and current lumber market conditions. An additional two-week curtailment is planned around the Christmas period, resulting in a total reduction of approximately 15 per cent of Conifex’s B.C. lumber production for the quarter.
