DEMO International space now 90% sold!

June 9, 2016 – With a little over three months to go until the show, planning for DEMO International is ramping up. This world class, one-of-a-kind industry event takes place September 22-24, 2016 in Maple Ridge, B.C.

DEMO International is the flagship event of the Canadian Woodlands Forum. It takes place every four years in a different location, and showcases the latest in forestry equipment, from stump to dump, in action and in the forest. Exhibitors, visitors and media attend from around the world, including the United States, South America and Europe.

“We are very pleased to announce that the Honourable Steve Thomson, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations has agreed to join the team as DEMO International 2016 Honourary Chair,” stated Peter Robichaud, executive director of the Canadian Woodlands Forum. “As a leader of the forestry sector in British Columbia, we look forward to drawing on his experience and leadership to showcase British Columbia’s forest industry worldwide and inviting everyone to Vancouver.”

The sheer size of the show is significant – with both static and active sites (featuring working equipment) surrounding a 3.2-kilometre loop of roadway, specially built for the show. To date, the site selection process has been extremely successful. The current list of exhibitors is now available on the show website.

“At the moment, space for the show is about 90 per cent sold,” said Mark Cusack, national show manager. “We have one final site selection meeting happening in late July, and we expect that the few remaining spaces will be quickly snapped up. This unique show is a big draw and interest is high from companies involved in many aspects of the forestry industry.”

In addition to the all live and in-woods equipment show, the Canadian Woodlands Forum is also proud to announce that the Demo International conference entitled, “Canada’s Forest Sector: Adapting to a new reality. Technology and innovation as a catalyst for success,” will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, B.C. just prior to DEMO and is scheduled for September 19 to 21, 2016. The two-day event is co-hosted by the Faculty of Forestry, UBC and the Canadian Woodlands Forum in association with FPInnovations, the Council on Forest Engineering (COFE) and the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF).

Visitor registration is now open for the 2016 edition of the show. Convenient online registration and full details are available on the show website: www.DemoInternational.com.

During the course of its 49-year history, DEMO International has evolved into one of North America’s largest and most distinctive outdoor equipment shows. This “all live and in action, in-woods” equipment show attracts more than 150 exhibitors featuring the latest technologies in equipment, products and services covering all aspects of woodlands operations. 2016 marks its 13th edition.
