Tolko appeals fine for 2012 landslide

Newly released provincial documents on the 2012 landslide in Cherryville, B.C., indicate that a nearby logging project helped trigger the incident.

Tolko is facing a $12,000 fine for failing to maintain proper surface drainage measures. Weyerhaeuser, the company that built the logging roads, is also facing a fine of $14,500 in connection with the slide. Both companies are challenging the fines.
