Petition filed against Canadian paper producers

March 11, 2015 – U.S. paper producers have filed a petition against its Canadian competitors, citing Canadian companies dumping product into the country at a price that they cannot compete with.

According to an article in The Globe and Mail, the petition has been filed with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission by the Coalition for Fair Paper Imports.

The petition surrounds supercalendered paper, a glossy stock used for the production of flyers and magazines.

The petition claims that Canadian producers have gained market share in the U.S. by undercutting American paper producers.
