J.D. Irving sawmill death under investigation
March 3, 2016 – The death of a 50-year-old male at the J.D. Irving Sussex sawmill on Monday is currently under investigation by WorkSafeNB.

According to a CBC report, the man died in hospital on Monday (February 29th) following a head injury sustained in the chipper building shortly after 1pm.
In a statement released by WorkSafeNB, “WorkSafeNB issued a stop-work order not to disturb the scene, and an investigation is ongoing. The investigation helps WorkSafeNB determine how the fatality may have been prevented and whether there were any violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or its regulations.”
