Little Bobtail Lake fire continues to burn

May 19, 2015 - The RCMP are currently investigating the starting point of the Little Bobtail Lake fire, which has grown into a 250-sq.-km. forest fire southwest of Prince George, B.C.

According to a recent article by the CBC, the RCMP has classified the fire as “human-caused” and has launched a criminal investigation. Penalties for starting a wildfire can include up to $1 million in fines, a year in prison, and the costs associated with fighting the fire.

There are over 300 personnel on site in the Little Bobtail Lake area, including 270 firefighters, 13 helicopters and more than 30 pieces of heavy equipment, according to the article.
