Logset makes new dealer agreements in the U.S.
May 24, 2017 - Finnish forestry machine manufacturer Logset Oy has signed a distribution agreement with U.S.-based Fabick CAT and U.S.-based Milton CAT to market Logset products. Under the terms of the agreement, the new dealers will provide sales, parts and service for Logset harvesters and forwarders throughout their service territories. The Fabick CAT territory includes the entire state of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, as well as major parts of Missouri and Illinois. The Milton CAT territory consists of New England and upstate New York. The initial shipment of machines
is scheduled for June.
The Great Lakes Region and the Northeastern United States is a key market for Logset. The area has embraced the Scandinavian cut-to-length (CTL) method of logging, and both Fabick CAT and Milton CAT are leading suppliers of CTL solutions in their territories.
“We have considered expanding our operations to the U.S. for some time, and the agreement with both dealers proceeded quickly. The U.S. is the most dynamic economy in the world, and we are extremely pleased to have Fabick and Milton as our U.S. partners. Their commitment to the forestry market, service capabilities and customer focus make them an ideal choice to represent the Logset product,” says Logset’s chairman of the board, Tapio Nikkanen.
Logset machines will give Fabick CAT and Milton CAT technology leadership within CTL solutions, and further strengthen their positions as full-line, full-service forestry solutions providers. Logset will ship middle sized and large forwarders, harvesters and harvester heads to U.S.
“We are excited about representing the Logset CTL product in our territory. The addition of Logset’s rubber-tired harvester and forwarder products allow us to provide a complete CTL solution to our customers,” says Fabick Cat’s vice-president of sales, John Quillico. “This expansion of our product offering, along with our commitment to product support, positions Fabick CAT to be a reliable partner to our forestry customers, especially the ones looking to improve their efficiency in the woods.”
“This cooperation agreement makes Milton CAT an even more reliable partner to our forestry customers as they look to improve their efficiency and profitability in the woods,” says Milton CAT’s forest products manager Peter Collins. “In the northeastern states, CTL solutions are taking over the market because land owners want more ecological solutions for their forests. Logset is our solution to this.”
Logset is a forest machine manufacturer producing CTL solutions. All products; harvesters, forwarders, harvester heads and simulators are manufactured in the company’s factory located in Koivulahti, Finland. Logset machines are exported to 25 countries and exports account for 85 per cent of the production.
