Madill is Back
Loggers will soon see new equipment sporting the longstanding Madill name as Sidney, B.C.-based Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. has acquired the assets of the former Madill Company from Modern Machinery in Missoula, Mont. The deal closed on Jan. 28, 2011.
November 8, 2011 By Cheryl Quinn
Nicholson has been involved in the forest industry since 1948 and is well known for its line of debarkers, which is sold worldwide. The Madill operations have already been moved to Nicholson’s Sidney manufacturing and operations centre and four former Madill employees have joined Nicholson.
The Madill product line manufactured by Nicholson will include log loaders, feller bunchers and yarders. The first machine, a loader, is already in production.
Nicholson is asking Canadian customers to continue to contact their nearest SMS Equipment dealer for all parts and service related issues, while in the U.S., Modern Machinery will continue to service Madill customers.
