Tolko’s Meadow Lake operation was the recipient of both the Gold Level Safety Performance award and the 2012 Excellence in Forest Management Practices award.
“We have been presenting awards to deserving teams and individuals for more than 20 years here at Tolko,” said Brad Thorlakson, Tolko’s CEO. “I am proud to recognize our partners at Meadow Lake who not only displayed a high level of commitment to forest management practices but also a determination to make safety a valued priority at the operations”
The Meadow Lake OSB experienced a fire on Jan. 18 and had most clean-up done by Jan. 21. No one was injured in the fire.
The OSB’s plant manager, Parker Snyder, thanked Tolko for recognizing his team.
“I was very pleased to accept both the Gold Level Safety Performance – Award of Distinction for 2012 and the 2012 Excellence in Forest Management Practices on behalf of the Meadow Lake Woodlands team at Tolko’s annual Leadership forum last week,” Snyder said. “The Woodlands team has truly dedicated their efforts toward world-class performance.”
The Meadow Lake OSB facility is operated by Tolko but owned by the Meadow Lake OSB Limited Partnership, which includes Northwest Communities Holdings, Meadow Lake Tribal Council Resource Development, CIC OSB Products and Tolko Industries.
