New FMP for Wishart Forest to accelerate harvesting
Sept. 5, 2017 - A new forest management plan for Wishart Forest in Thunder Bay, Ont., includes an accelerated harvest schedule that includes 23 hectares of logging to begin this winter.

The new plan is the result of forestry consultant KBM Resources Group, which was hired by property owner Lakehead Region Conservation Authority.
Stephane Audet, a partner at KBM Resources, told the Chronicle Journal the forest has too many over-mature trees that pose a danger to the public.
