February 21, 2013  By  John Tenpenny

“This contest will help us showcase the next generation of the forest industry,” said publisher Scott Jamieson.

The Top 20 Under 40, which recognizes the new faces of the industry, will highlight the next generation of workers from every sector, including managers, equipment operators, mechanics and technological innovators and more. The goal is to present 20 individuals under the age of 40 who are leading the next generation of forest industry professionals.

Applicants for the Top 20 Under 40 will be judged based on their work ethic, leadership, initiative, training, and on their drive to be involved in the industry. The staff of Canadian Forest Industries magazine will evaluate the applications.

“As the forest industry moves forward in Canada, we must recognize the young leaders who will represent the next generation,” said Jamieson. “They are providing the examples to help bring new ideas, strategies and workers to our industry for years to come.”
