Nova Scotia increases fines for illegal logging
Oct. 5, 2016 - Illegal logging on crown land in Nova Scotia is now punishable by a $50,000 fine for individuals or $250,000 for businesses and up to a year imprisonment on the first offence.
The Nova Scotia government announced the fine increase on Tuesday. The previous fine was $2,000 and up to six months imprisonment.
