Smart sawsense: Bringing IIoT into the filing room with heat source monitoring

In this on-demand session, Justin Williams, CEO of Williams and White, discusses how the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) represents a massive opportunity for the sawmill, specifically the filing room, to improve monitoring and efficiency. He shares applications for IIoT in the mill and details on some of their newest products, including the Smart Guide Sawsense Performing Monitoring System and the Saw-ADD Smart Band Saw & Arbor.

Demystifying the Dust Hazard Analysis

Francis Petit, VETS Group.

NFPA 652 (Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust) requires that sawmill owners conduct a Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) for existing facilities and processes. It also states that owners should demonstrate reasonable progress in completing DHAs each year. While NFPA 652 is not a legal requirement in all jurisdictions, facilities wanting to adhere to the Standard need to show reasonable progress in completing DHAs.

So, what does ‘reasonable progress’ mean? Why is this so important? What exactly is a successful DHA?

In this on-demand session, VETS Group’s Francis Petit and Rembe’s Jeramy Slaunwhite present a step-by-step explanation of what needs to be included in a DHA, why it’s necessary, how to apply it to your facility and manage it, and more.

Register now to watch these on-demand sessions, and don’t forget to join us on Oct. 14 for the live presentations!

The full agenda for the event can be found here.
