OptiSaw East postponed due to COVID-19 risk

March 13, 2020  By  Ellen Cools

Over the past week, many organizations have announced the cancellation or postponement of events in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. In such uncertain times, the old saying “better safe than sorry,” comes to mind.

As such, out of an abundance of caution – and to ensure we do the right things for our readers and sponsors – we have postponed OptiSaw East in Quebec City until fall 2020.

We are working with our venue to solidify a new date, and will provide an update as soon as we have confirmed the new dates. For those who have registered as attendees, your tickets will be automatically transferred once the new date is set.

We look forward to putting on a great event in the fall, with speakers from industry-leading manufacturers presenting on cutting-edge sawmilling technologies and processes, sharing case studies and providing valuable insight into the future of sawmilling.

Meanwhile, OptiSaw West in Kelowna, B.C., on June 4 will go ahead as scheduled. Now a two-day affair with a pre-conference industry tour on June 3, attendees can join us for a site visit to one of North America’s premier mass timber manufacturers, Structurlam, and then enjoy an afternoon wine tour at a celebrated Okanagan winery. Tour seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Don’t miss out, register today!
