Out-of-control wildfire near Kamloops grows to 350 hectares

An out-of-conrol wildfire north of Kamloops, B.C., at Sparks Lake, has grown to 350 hectares.

The fire, which began on the afternoon of Monday, June 29, has grown quickly due to the hot and dry conditions in the area.

According to the Vernon Morning Star, an evacuation alert has been issued for nine properties in the area, and 47 firefighters, along with four helicopters and three pieces of heavy equipment, are on site battling the blaze.
