Paper Excellence curtails Crofton, B.C., paper facility for 2 weeks

Paper Excellence announced a production curtailment at its Crofton, B.C., paper facility for two weeks beginning Sept. 10.

The company said the curtailment coincides with scheduled annual maintenance of utility assets. The outage is expected to reduce the site exposure to higher cost energy through this period.

About 95 employees will be temporarily laid off during the curtailment.

“We remain committed to our impacted employees and servicing our paper customers’ needs during this curtailment,” the company stated.
