Politics to blame in Fort Frances?

Nov. 5, 2014 – The future of the Fort Frances pulp mill is up in the air but the Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is placing the blame at the Ontario Liberal government's feet. Over 150 jobs in the mill are at stake and many more in the woodlands.

About 30 local officials from northwestern Ontario travelled to the legislature on Tuesday to discuss the future of the Fort Frances mill. Resolute Forest Products is in negotiations to sell it to Expera but it would require the transfer of the sustainable forestry licence held by Resolute into an enhanced sustainable forestry licence that the community and companies would manage together, according to the Lethbridge Herald.
