RCMP officers in hospital after collision with log truck near Fairy Creek

Three B.C.  RCMP officers were taken to hospital yesterday morning following a collision with a log truck that caused logs to fall off the trailer and onto two police cruisers.

The Ladysmith Chemainus Chronicle reports that the officers were en route to conduct enforcement operations at Fairy Creek on Vancouver Island, where protesters have been camped out in an attempt to disrupt logging operations in the area.

RCMP and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement investigations into the incident have begun.
