New Gear Equipment Sawmilling
Saw Control System

March 8, 2016 - The Saw Control System marries control parameters set in the file room to the sawyer’s feed-handle position. The sawyer has complete control of entry into the cut and holds the joystick position throughout the cut.
Saw Control enhances the speed and adds a predetermined percentage of speed depending on the depth of cut.

If the blade stability exceeds (snakes) beyond set limits, no further increases will be added to the handle position, and if other limits are exceeded, a slowing percentage will be subtracted. If the sawyer does not like the slow-down, the handle is easily adjusted to add more speed. At any time the sawyer is able to take control of the system manually.

Early product trials have shown that, in giving the filer feedback and the sawyer enhanced feed capabilities, one-to-two sawlines per minute have been added.
