Using X-ray technology to optimize sawing solutions
May 3, 2018 - A key component of CT log scanning in sawmills is the use of X-ray technology to allow scan data from a single CT log scanner to be used in multiple downstream areas in the sawmill.
Join your peers for a case study about a first-of-its-kind installation at OptiSaw – the one-day education forum for those driving the future of sawmilling – taking place in Richmond, B.C., on June 5.
Featured presentation: Closing the loop: Incorporating X-ray technology
Springer-Microtec recently installed three Microtec Logeye systems at a sawmill in North America to complement the mill’s existing CT scanner. These new scanners identify the log and its rotational position at the sawmill, and execute the original CT log optimized sawing solution performed in the log yard. This is the first installation of its kind in the world that identifies individual logs from a storage of over 100,000 logs.
Springer-Microtec’s Norvin Laudon will explain the ground-breaking technologies involved, and describe some of the benefits that are realized.
Seats are filling quickly so don’t wait to sign up. The forum is limited to an exclusive audience of sawmill management and owners, process engineers, continual improvement managers, optimization staff, researchers and design consultants. Register now to secure your seat at the table.
