Fire strikes Tolko Merritt

February 29, 2016 – A fire broke out at the Tolko Industries sawmill in Merritt on Saturday afternoon.

According to a report from CFJC Today, the Merritt Fire Department was called to the scene at around 1:30pm on Saturday.

The fire took place inside the plant, and the sprinkler system was activated during the fire. The cause of the blaze is unknown.

No injuries have been reported.
