US FTC approves West Fraser acquisition of Gilman Companies
Aug. 21, 2017 - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has approved West Fraser's acquisition of six sawmills and a finger-joint mill from the Howard Gilman Foundation and other shareholders.
The Gilman Companies mills located in Georgia and Florida have a combined annual production capacity of 700 million bft of southern yellow pine lumber.
The approval from the FTC ends the anti-trust review and waiting period for the acquisition. The deal is expected to close before the end of the quarter.
