Vaagen Brothers shut down stud mill

December 30, 2015 - According to recent news reports, Vaagen Brothers Lumber shut down its Usk, Wash. stud mill operation temporarily on Dec. 28, 2015. The stud mill is expected to remain closed until market conditions improve. 

The Usk site is home to a chipping mill and a stud mill that employ approximately 50 people in total. The chipping mill on site is expected to continue operating as long as resources remain available.
